Determiner

BE /dɪˈtɜːmɪnə/, AE / dəˈtɜrmənər/

Definition

A word that occurs before a noun to express number, quantity, or (in)definiteness (e.g. a, the, some, all).

Examples

  • The girl is a student.
  • Both windows were open.
  • Some folks get all the luck.
  • I only had thirteen drinks.
