Pronunciation: [ˈhɒmənɪm]
Definition
Homonyms share the same spelling and pronunciation but differ in terms of their meaning. They are not to be confused with homographs or homophones.
Examples
bank (1: the bank as a financial institution; 2: the bank of a river; 3: the verb "to bank"; etc.)
bat (1: the animal; 2: the tool which is used in baseball or cricket; etc.)
change (1: "change" as some sort of alteration; 2: the money you get back as change when buying something; etc.)
